Slate House Signs

Our sister company Clover Leaf Signs and Memorials engraves a wide range of slate house signs and house numbers using the finest quality Welsh slate.  Welsh slate has a pedigree going back over 100 years and unlike imported slates, will not frost, delaminate or colour change over time and there are a wide variety of shapes and sizes with a choice of borders, text fonts and colours to choose from.

The letters on the slate signs are v-cut, a technique that produces deeply engraved v shaped letters that are designed to last a lifetime.  These are then painted in one of six acrylic paint colours, of which at least four coats are applied.  The face and edges are honed to give them a silky smooth finish and  a chamfer is applied to the edges and corners to reduce the sharpness.  The signs are then finished by hand to give a velvety matt appearance.

Signs are supplied with pre-drilled holes and screws for fixing to your wall.  Alternatively, studs can be provided to enable you to hang the sign without the need for screw holes.
